MicroTCA (MTCA) is an open PICMG standard for applications with high demands on data rate, availability, and modularity. It is based on AdvancedMC modules that are directly plugged into the backplane, allowing for compact, high-performance system architectures.
Advantages at a glance:
High-speed data transmission with up to 100G Ethernet and PCIe Gen 5
Support for modern protocols: Ethernet, Serial Rapid I/O, PCI Express, S-ATA/SAS
Fully redundant system architecture for maximum availability
Integrated carrier and shelf management (temperature, voltage, fans) with remote monitoring via Ethernet
High power dissipation per module (up to 80 W) – reliable cooling through special fans and thermal simulation
System compatibility:
Supports MTCA.0, MTCA.1, and MTCA.4
Systems for AdvancedMC modules in various form factors
Expandable accessory portfolio (front panels, filler panels, etc.)
Applications:
Ideal for telecommunications, automation, medical technology, image processing, defense technology, and all applications where large amounts of data need to be processed quickly and reliably.
